The Human Resources Manager is a newly created role in the Blackfalds Service Centre designed to support STEP’s exciting growth plans and to foster broader Human Resources business partner relationships throughout STEP’s operations. This role will be primarily responsible for the execution of comprehensive recruiting strategies that will attract and retain top Professionals to STEP. In addition, the Human Resources Manager will partner with Managers and Professionals to provide coaching and day to day support on a wide range of employee relations matters, including performance management , recruitment, coaching and development, and compliance with relevant employment legislation.
Provide leadership, direction and coaching to Human Resources Recruiting Professionals.
Lead execution of STEP’s recruiting strategy to ensure all actions and deliverables are met.
Recommend best practice recruiting methods to ensure STEP remains competitive in its ability to attract and retain qualified Professionals.
Partner with Managers and supervisors to provide coaching and direction on employee relations matters including performance management, discipline, termination, conflict resolution.
Through regular field site visits, engage with field Professionals to ensure that STEP is delivering on its promise to provide an EEE (Exceptional Employee Experience) culture. Provide the interface between field Professionals and Human Resources by identifying opportunities and challenges that have implications for HR strategy, programs and processes.
Assist with implementation of new HR policies and procedures and identify opportunities where HR can add value to STEP’s operational plans.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
University or college degree or diploma with focus in Human Resources or business, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. CHRP designation preferred.
Eight to ten years progressive generalist experience in Human Resources in several functional areas with considerable exposure to recruiting, employee relations, performance management and complex employee issues. Human Resources experience within oil & gas or oilfield services is strongly preferred.
Three or more years’ experience leading, coaching and developing Human Resources Professionals.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with wide range of stakeholders including employees, Managers, external organizations, and prospective candidates.
Solid knowledge of HR practices, employment related laws and regulations and emerging issues and trends in the field of human resources.
